Proxy OPSEC Overview
Proxy OPSEC focuses on preventing accidental identity, metadata, and traffic leaks when using forward proxies. Proxies are traffic control tools—not anonymity solutions.
OPSEC Warning: A misconfigured proxy can leak more data than a direct connection.
What Proxies Do
- Route traffic through an intermediary
- Enforce access control
- Centralize logging
What Proxies Do NOT Do
- Hide fingerprints
- Prevent DNS leaks
- Guarantee anonymity
Best Practice: Treat proxies as infrastructure—not cover.
